Help

Connecting your eBay account

To list for you, letsList needs your permission on eBay. eBay shows that request as a long list, and it is reasonable to stop and ask what you are agreeing to. This page answers that plainly — including the parts of the list letsList does not use.

What happens when you click Connect

  1. You go to eBay's own sign-in page — check the address bar, it is on ebay.com. You sign in there, so letsList never sees your eBay password.
  2. eBay shows you what letsList is asking permission to do, and asks you to agree.
  3. eBay sends you back to letsList with a key for your account. If you choose not to agree, nothing is connected and nothing on your account changes.

Why the list is so long

eBay groups permissions into broad areas and asks you to approve them all at once — you cannot tick some and leave others. letsList asks for the areas it uses today plus a few it is building toward, so you are not sent back to eBay to reconnect every time a feature is added. Being straight with you: part of the list is not used yet.

What letsList uses today

  • Your listings — to create, revise, and end them when you ask, and to show you what is live
  • Your Business Policies — to pick shipping, payment, and return settings for a listing, and to create or edit a policy when you ask
  • Your eBay identity — your username and registration country, so letsList knows which account and marketplace you are on
  • Sold prices — what an item actually sold for, so letsList can show you real results

What letsList does — and doesn't do — with it

Connecting only reads

Right after you connect, letsList reads your account details and your current listings. After that it refreshes your listings and Business Policies once a night. None of that changes anything on eBay.

Changes happen when you press the button

Drafts — including everything AI writes — stay private inside letsList. eBay only changes when you take one of the actions listed below.

It can't buy, bid, or spend

letsList has no permission to buy items, place bids, or make offers on your behalf. We don't keep buyers' names or addresses — for a sold item we keep the price, quantity, and date.

The key stays on our servers

The key eBay gives letsList is stored on our servers and never sent to your browser. Disconnecting deletes it.

letsList changes something on eBay only when:

  • You publish a listing
  • You submit a revision to a live listing
  • You end a listing
  • You create or edit a Business Policy
  • You enroll in an eBay program from the eBay Account page

Changing your mind

You can disconnect at any time from the account menu in the letsList sidebar. That deletes the key letsList holds, so it can no longer reach your account. You can also remove letsList from the third-party app permissions in your eBay account settings — either one ends the connection. Listings you already published stay on eBay as ordinary listings.
